Sunday May 28, 4:00pm
William Saroyan Theatre, 730 M Street, Fresno 93721

Our annual Youth Music Extravaganza on Memorial Day weekend has become a community tradition. Join us for the 2017 version! All three orchestras--our Youth Chamber Orchestra, Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Youth Philharmonic Orchestra--perform at this event, joined by students from our Accent on Access Violin Program. Not to be missed!

Rejoining the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra in performance will be international violin superstar Vadim Gluzman, playing the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. (He last performed with YPO in spring of 2010, playing the Brahms concerto.) We are beyond excited to have him coming back to Fresno!

Also on the program: Coming Home, a newly commissioned work by FOUR local composers, inspired by the work of William Saroyan and based on stories of home in the Central Valley. Learn more on our Coming Home Project page. (Also in Spanish)

Also: Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, by Leonard Bernstein,
and Conga del Fuego Nuevo, by Arturo Marquez

$15-$20 donations at the door are hoped for from adult attendees at this free, non-ticketed event!

Here's a bit of Tchaikovsky-related video featuring Vadim Gluzman....
