Saturday May 26, Fresno State band room, ALL THREE ORCHESTRAS—PLEASE READ SCHEDULE CAREFULLY!
11:00a-1:00p YCO/YSO/YPO together, Tchaikovsky, 1812 Overture
1:00-2:00p FABULOUS PITCH-IN PICNIC! (EVERYBODY BRINGS FOOD TO SHARE PER EMAILS SENT DURING THE WEEK)
2:00-4:00p YPO only, Glazunov and Shostakovich
4:00-5:30p YPO only, Rachmaninoff with Steven Vanhauwaert, soloist

Sunday May 27: Youth Music Extravaganza! YCO, YSO and YPO perform. Soloist Steven Vanhauwaert plays the insanely popular and well-known (you know it even if you think you don't) Rachmaninoff second piano concerto. 

SCHEDULE for SUNDAY MAY 27 AT WILLIAM SAROYAN THEATRE, 700 M STREET, FRESNO
 

10:45 YPO members arrive (remember that there will be security checks at the doors, so come early)
11:00-12:00 YPO and Steven Vanhauwaert: Rachmaninoff
12:00-1:00 YPO: Shostakovich and Glazunov (dancers)
1:00-1:30 break/snack (YPO only)

1:15 YSO and YCO arrive (remember that there will be security checks at the doors, so come early)
1:30-3:00 YCO/YSO/YPO together: Tchaikovsky, 1812 Overture

4:00pm: CONCERT BEGINS!

Members of YSO and YPO orchestras are required to be present for the entire concert. Orchestra members may not leave during the performance or at intermission. Everyone is playing the final piece on the program!!

REMEMBER TO BRING COOKIES TO SHARE AT THE POST-CONCERT RECEPTION IN THE LOWER LOBBY.

  • Please wear those colorful shirts/blouses/tops with black pants/socks/shoes once again this time. Everyone looks so much better in bright colors! And this is a JOYFUL OCCASION. Let's look as joyful and sprightly as we can!
  • Gentlemen will not need jackets or ties for this event.

Concert attire for Chamber Orchestra members (REGULAR CONCERTS)

Ladies: Full-length black skirt or black trousers, black stockings/socks, black shoes, white top with long or three-quarter-length sleeves.
Gentlemen: Black dress slacks, black socks, black shoes, white long-sleeved dress shirt with a black bow tie.

Shorthand version: black with white tops, bow ties for gentlemen!

Concert attire for Youth Symphony members

Ladies: Full-length black skirt or black trousers, black top with long or three-quarter-length sleeves, black stockings/socks, black shoes.
Gentlemen: Black/dark jacket (tuxedo is fine but not required), black/dark dress slacks, black socks, black shoes, white dress shirt with black bow tie.

Shorthand version: black on black, bow ties for gentlemen!

Concert attire for Youth Philharmonic members

Ladies: Full-length black skirt or black trousers and black top with long or three-quarter-length sleeves OR full-length black dress with long or three-quarter-length sleeves, black stockings/socks, black shoes.
Gentlemen: Black/dark jacket (tuxedo is fine but not required), black/dark dress slacks, black socks, black shoes, white dress shirt with black bow tie.
